Proverbs
31:11
"The Heart Of Her Husband Doth Safely Trust In Her, So That He Shall Have No Need Of Spoil."
"The Heart Of Her Husband Doth Safely Trust In Her, So That He Shall Have No Need Of Spoil."
The Virtuous Woman is Trustworthy...
I’d
like to focus on that today – being trustworthy…
Trustworthy:
deserving of trust or confidence; dependable; reliable:
Are we truly trustworthy? Many of us would say yes right off the bat, but what would OTHERS say about us? More importantly, what would our HUSBANDS say about us being trustworthy? A husband wants to have the confidence in his “superwoman wife” to be able to trust her while he is focusing on supporting his family. If you’re a homemaker, as I am, how do we do at home? Do we put forth that effort for the house to look nice when our husband comes home? Do we even think of him when we’re doing it? Your husband gains financially at work… does he gain emotionally at home? Or, does he have a “lack” of gain at home? Does your husband LOOK FORWARD to coming home, or does he dread it? Are we treasured by our husbands? Do we welcome our husband home with loving words and actions, SHOWING that we appreciate what he does and are proud of him?
This
is something I think we ALL can work on. I definitely can. Sometimes when my
husband gets home, I am so exhausted from taking care of my son and being
pregnant that he is the least of my concerns. I am SO wrong when it comes to
that. God, Husband, Children… is what the “order” should be… what order are we
putting them in? And – anything can be added to that list: finances, shopping,
groceries, friends, other family, hobbies, etc. the list could go on and on and
we need to take a step back & “organize” this list and make sure those first
three are in CORRECT order. Life gets to us, sometimes Its just NOT going to be
easy and sometimes we just don’t feel like it … I know the majority of you gals
are shaking your head yes right now thinking … Yep! Sometimes I just want to
throw my hands up and GO TO BED… Haha, I HEAR YOU. It is TOUGH. Like I’ve said
before – marriage is work – the question is, are we willing to put forth that
effort to WORK at it? Is our husband worth that? Of course, we say… but are our
actions showing that? Are we the qualities we should be?
Genesis 2:24
“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his
mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”
Proverbs 18:22
“Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favor of the Lord.”
Proverbs 21:19
“It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry
woman.”
Ask yourself these questions:
Are you and your husband really one flesh….?
Did your husband find the wife that is a GOOD thing….?
Would he rather live in the wilderness than with you because of your bitterness, anger & complaints….? (eeeeek!)
Are you TRUSTWORTHY?
Our husbands want to have confidence in us in EVERY way
possible. Does he KNOW that you aren’t going to run to family and friends when
an argument comes up? Does he know that the things that should stay private in
a marriage really are private? Are we being 200% committed or is something or
someone lowering that percentage?
Ladies, lets really pray that the Lord will help & guide
us this week. Ask Him to help you be the wife you need to be. To be faithful,
kind, loving, caring & to be PROUD of your husband and what he does… to
welcome him home with loving words and actions… This will be easy to some and
harder to others… Let’s organize our list an make sure that the LORD comes first,
our husband second, children third, etc… See how Christ will work in our lives
when we stop putting the blame on others (our husband) and start recognizing
that maybe WE are the issue. Focus on YOUR actions this we and focus on the
words that are coming out of YOUR mouth…
Are you trustworthy?
Would your husband agree with you?
Trust that the Lord is going to work in your life this week & on… Be in prayer and indulge in His Word!

Psalm 9:10
“And they that know
thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them
that seek thee.”
